LGBTQIA+

The Psychology Department is committed to equality for everyone, no matter what their gender identities or sexual orientations may be.

Lancaster has a LGBT+ Staff Network, who hold regular meetings and events, and communicate with members, staff, and students on LGBTQIA+ issues. They aim to raise awareness and the profile of LGBTQIA+ issues and ensure that there are visible role models at different levels of the organisation. The Students' Union also has LGBT+ student associations. For further details contact the Students' Union.

Many of our staff and students are part of the University’s LGBTQIA+ Ally Network. An LGBTQIA+ ally is a person who may or may not have the lived experience of a person in the LGBTQIA+ community, but who is willing to provide non-judgemental support to our colleagues and students who are in the LGBTQIA+ community. Many of the allies have a ‘Safe home base’ logo in their email signatures, so that they can be easily identified.
