Scrapbooks

Two magnificent scrapbooks (DL-95-216MM001 and DL-95-216MM002) were lovingly created by Doreen Lyell in the 1930s from the age of ten. Miss Lyell donated them to CCINTB during her first interview, saying she had no family to give them to and did not want them to be thrown away as they were “part of my history”.

Jean Gowing also donated a wonderful ‘Scraps’ scrapbook she had created, along with listings of 1930s films she had seen and a copy of her 1937 diary.
