Speaker: Cameron Torrance (Kent) Title: Quantum Partial Flag varieties are Catenary

Abstract: Using an analogue of the Schubert cell decomposition Launois, Lenagan and Rigal were able to prove a number of results about the prime spectra of a quantised version of the homogenous coordinate rings of Grassmannians. More generally a similar decomposition was established for a quantum analogue of the multicone over a partial flag variety G/P (G complex simply connected semisimple complex algebraic group). In this talk I will discuss how the arguments used in the Grassmannian case can be adapted to this more general setting. In particular I will discuss the proof that these "quantum partial flags" are catenary rings.
