Outdoor Facilities
Competition standard pitches and courts for a wide range of sports are available to book by contacting the reception team on 01534 510600 or emailing sportenquiries@lancaster.ac.uk.
Get out and make it happen
Our outdoor facilities are available to book all year round. Group bookings must be made in advance by contacting the reception team. For pricing information, visit the prices page.
Here's a list of our outdoor sports facilities:
- 8 tennis courts
- 5 netball courts (floodlit)
- 2 multi-use games areas for 5-a-side football, netball, basketball etc (Floodlit)
- 2 synthetic grass pitches (floodlit)
- 3 rugby pitches
- 6 Association football pitches

At present we are full for any block bookings on our pitches, to be put on the waiting list please email m.brookes@lancaster.ac.uk with your requirements.
3G and 2 floodlit synthetic pitches
We have one 3G pitch and two synthetic pitches, which are used for Hockey and Football. These facilities are floodlit and available Monday-Sunday during Sports Centre opening hours. To book, call 01524 510600 or email sportenquiries@lancaster.ac.uk.
We also have five Associated football pitches on the university site, which are used for student sport only and at this time we don’t hire them out to external users.
Multi-use games area (MUGA)
We have 2 MUGA’s, both floodlit and generally used for Netball or for Basketball to shoot some hoops. The courts are open to use for individuals but any groups wishing to use them need to book and pay via reception. To book call 01524 510600 or email sportenquiries@lancaster.ac.uk.
Tennis courts
We have 8 full-size outdoor Tennis courts which were recently fitted with floodlights so that they can be booked for day and evening sessions. To book, call 01524 510600.
