The Students' Union play an integral part in enhancing the student experience on campus during their stay with us. The Students' Union representative is the Vice President for Sport and Activities. They represent the student voice and the interest between the student and the University. Because of this relationship, the Union work closely with the Sports Centre team to deliver facilities, events and activities that have engaged students, staff and the local community for years.

Bringing an extra level of professionalism to our teams.

The Students’ Union is involved in every aspect of student sport at Lancaster. This ranges from working with our elite athletes and organising our amazing annual Roses tournament to supporting the range of recreational and collegiate sporting opportunities. We are exceptionally proud of our college sporting offer here at Lancaster which is growing year on year.

At present, this includes a series of competitive college leagues and one-day tournaments, as part of our Carter Shield College Championship, as well as 4 annual multi-sport College Cups. Packages include a variety of benefits including competition and affiliation fees, transport, playing kit, coaching and more.Additional funding is available to our Focus Sports – Netball, Badminton, Hockey, Rugby Union, Fencing and Swimming & Water Polo – for strength & conditioning and physiotherapy sessions to help them perform at their best.

The War of the Roses continues in great sporting tradition with the annual intervarsity competition between the students of Lancaster and York. 50 different sports and more than 100 different fixtures over one weekend decides the victor!
