Children and families can learn the basics of climbing at Sport Lancaster with their new Rock Up and Climb Sessions, running throughout the October Half Term holidays.
Whether you are coming with friends, siblings or as a family, you’ll get the chance to learn skills such as fitting a harness, tying a figure-of-eight knot, belaying, bouldering and top-roping. The sessions will be a fun and engaging introduction to climbing in a supportive environment, led by a member of our experienced climbing team, and gives children and families a way to spend quality time together while trying something new and challenging themselves.
Sessions are available for up to 6 climbers, and cost £9.35 per person for a 1-hour session. No experience is necessary, just a sense of adventure!
Please note that these sessions are only available for children aged 6 years and over, and under 10’s must have an adult in the building while taking part in the session- they don’t need to take part in the session.
Session times are as follows:
- Thursday 29 October: - 2.30pm, 4.30pm and 7pm
- Friday 30 October: - 11am and 3pm
- Saturday 31 October: - 9.30am, 11.30am and 1.30pm
Places on each session are limited so it is advised to book in advance. To book your place, please contact reception at the front desk, on 01524 510600 or by emailing climbing@lancaster.ac.uk.
