Lancaster University Triathlon Sunday 6 September 2026 – Impact on Campus

The Lancaster University Triathlon will take place on Sunday 6 September, affecting vehicle access to the main campus, the Sports Centre car park, and bus services.

The closures are necessary to accommodate the event taking place on Campus.

Please allow additional time for travel and follow all signage and diversions on campus during the closure.

Between 8.00am and 2.00pm, Bigforth Drive and the Perimeter Road will be fully closed to all vehicles.

Sports Centre Access and Car Parking

  • The Sports Centre is accessible on foot only.
  • Car parking will be available on the Sports Field Car Park, accessible via Green Lane, a short walk to the Sports Centre.

Campus Access and Car Parking

  • The Main Campus is accessible on foot only.
  • South West Campus is accessible by vehicles via Alexandra Park Drive.
  • Parking will be available on South West Campus.
  • Anybody who needs access to their vehicle between 8.00am and 2.00pm on Sunday 6 September is asked to move their vehicle to South West Campus beforehand.

Emergency Access

Emergency vehicles will be permitted to access the closed section of road with caution.

Bus Services

Bus services will not come onto campus. Please use the University Gates Bus Stops on the A6 (Southbound and Northbound).
