New outdoor gym installed on campus
A brand-new Outdoor Gym has been installed opposite Sport Lancaster, designed to support strength training, functional movement, and group exercise.
The innovative structure features a variety of stations and equipment suitable for bodyweight training, suspension exercises, and resistance-based workouts.
The facility is free for the campus community, offering a flexible and inclusive way to stay active, add variety to your training routine, or exercise with friends.
To celebrate its launch, a qualified Fitness Instructor will host a 30-minute “Outdoor Gym Intro” group exercise class on Wednesday 26 November, starting at 12.15pm, to teach participants how to use the equipment effectively and build confidence in functional training.
The workout is suitable for all fitness levels and designed to familiarise participants with the equipment.
The session will begin with a short warm-up to get moving before commencing the main workout. This will involve working in pairs for 45 seconds and alternating between two exercises at each station, followed by 15 seconds of rest. The session will conclude with cool-down stretches.
“This is a fantastic new resource for our community,” said Sam Cadwallader, Engagement and Wellbeing Manager at Sport Lancaster.
“It’s designed to be versatile, so whether you’re a beginner or an experienced gym-goer, you’ll find ways to challenge yourself, improve your fitness, and enjoy training in the fresh air, at a time that suits you.”
Register your free place to join the Outdoor Gym Intro on Wednesday 26 November.
