Sport Lancaster's Rainbow Run returns for 2026
Sport Lancaster is hosting a 4km Rainbow Run, taking place on Wednesday 11 March, in partnership with Lancaster University Running and Athletics Club (LURAC). The Rainbow Run costs £3.50 to enter, with all proceeds being donated to Barnardo’s Children’s Charity, in support of their work.
The event is open to all age groups and fitness levels, with everyone being encouraged to join in, whether they are walking, jogging or running. All participants are asked to wear their favourite colours for the event, with a rainbow-themed fancy dress competition also taking place on the day, with prizes for the best dressed.
Registration begins at 1pm at the Sports Centre, followed by a pre-run briefing, so please allow plenty of time. The run will then begin at 1.30pm, with marshals guiding the way around the route, which uses the Woodland Walk and campus paths, finishing back at the Sports Centre.
Parking and toilet facilities will be available for participants at Sport Lancaster on the day.
Please note: Anyone with any pre-existing medical conditions must carry appropriate medication with them on the run. The decision whether or not to run is left to the discretion of the individual and they run at their own risk.
Tickets can be purchased before the event, or on the day. For more information, please email sportenquiries@lancaster.ac.uk or visit the registration page to book your place.
