Volunteer at Lancaster University’s Triathlon

Sport Lancaster’s sprint-distance Triathlon event will be held on Sunday 7 September at Lancaster University’s Bailrigg Campus.

The success of the Triathlon hinges on the support of local volunteers, who play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the event; from marshalling the course and guiding participants, to handing out water and offering encouragement at every stage.

General volunteer timings are between 8am-2pm, however, any support is appreciated. Volunteers on a 4+ hour shift will receive a bag of snacks and refreshments.

Please contact Sam Cadwallader, Wellbeing & Engagement Manager at Sport Lancaster, with your availability: s.cadwallader@lancaster.ac.uk

Thank you so much.

Raising money for local charities

All proceeds raised from this event will go to St John's Hospice & Cancer Care. Over the years, the Triathlon has raised over £36,000 for these charities combined. Participants' individual fundraising for one or both of these charities is encouraged, and, sponsorship from friends and family also acts as a great incentive to complete the challenge!

In memory of Andy Bailey

Dr Andy Bailey was a much loved and respected colleague at Lancaster University Management School from 1997-2015 who died suddenly at the age of 49. Andy will be most fondly remembered by those privileged to have known him as a scholar who was outstanding at translating the academic theory of strategic management and change management to the everyday complexity of practice. Perhaps most importantly colleagues, students, and friends would genuinely describe him as a "great bloke". He was an understated man, gracious in his time to all, kind to a fault.
