The Home Portal is an online space for customers to manage their account and lesson details, access important information about instructors and lesson content, check progress, receive push notifications, view any outstanding payments, and more.
Each Swimming Instructor will update the Home Portal for parents to check the progress of their child, this can take a few days.

Following the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme, swimming lessons at Sport Lancaster are structured into ability levels, starting from the age of 3 upwards to Stage 10, progressing when the child is ready. Guidance on different swimming stages can be found on the Swim England website.
A swimmer’s progress can be tracked on their Home Portal account.
When a child has passed a Stage, they will progress to the next Stage providing there is a space for them. If there is no space on the next Stage, children will be added to the waiting list until a space becomes available.
Children’s swimming lessons are £25 per month, which covers swimming lessons taking place in that month, payable by Direct Debit.
The yearly cost of Instructor-led lessons is calculated based on 48 lessons taking place in a 52-week period. In the instance where less than 48 lessons occur, 1/48th is refunded for each lesson that does not take place.
This figure is calculated every January and customers are informed of any credit due.
If there is an issue with payment, please ensure this is rectified prior to attending a swimming lesson. Please call Reception on 01524 510600 with any concerns.
Swimming lessons can be cancelled at any time with 30 days’ notice. Notice can be shorter in exceptional circumstance where medical notes due to illness or injury can be provided.
Swimming lessons cannot be frozen.

There are many qualified Swimming Instructors at Sport Lancaster who each strive to provide consistency and high-quality swimming lessons.
A new Swimming Instructor may cover a lesson in the event of sickness and absence.
Sport Lancaster keeps a waiting list for any lessons that are at capacity at the time of enquiry. The waiting list is contacted on a first come, first served basis, unless we don't hear a response within 5 working days, at which point the space is offered to the next person on the waiting list.
Children cannot always attend weekly lessons for a range of reasons. Parents/guardians are only required to contact Sport Lancaster if 3+ lessons in a row are missed.
Continuous payments via Direct Debit secures the Swimming Lesson space for each child.
Whilst we appreciate this can be upsetting for the swimmer, children are not permitted late entry to a lesson due to the disruption this causes for the class and the Swimming Instructor, it also means the swimmer won’t be warmed up and can cause injury.
Lateness Policy:
- Customers should arrive at least 5 minutes before the start of the lesson and be on poolside for the start time of their lesson.
- Customers should check-in by swiping the child’s membership card and giving their lesson time at Reception, before heading to the changing rooms.
- Sport Lancaster suggests children arrive swim ready, where possible, to reduce time in the changing areas prior to the lesson commencing
- Sport Lancaster staff are not permitted to allow entry to the centre if your child is late to their lesson.
The Swimming Pool at Sport Lancaster is kept at a slightly cooler temperature, typically 27 - 28 degrees.
Please bring a swimming costume/trunks, a towel, goggles if required, and a swimming hat is encouraged.

Swimming lessons typically continue throughout school holidays. Parents/guardians will be notified of any changes accordingly.
