Dr Luke Parry

Lecturer

I am interested in the human processes driving environmental change in tropical forest regions and the impacts of change on poverty and food security. I have adopted an interdisciplinary approach to my research over the course of working at the Lancaster Environment Centre, the University of East Anglia, the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and eight years in the Amazon. I lead projects in the Brazilian Amazon, investigating (a) transitions to fire-free agriculture (b) the well-being of rural-urban migrants, (c) linkages between soy farming and urban poverty. http://www.tropicalforestresearch.org/People/lparry.aspx
