Faculty Fellow - Energy Lancaster

My research is focussed on the microclimatic effects of land-based renewables and consequent impacts on hosting ecosystems. My current research examines the effects of wind turbines on the microclimate and implications for peatland carbon cycling and I am currently building a research portfolio focussing on solar parks. Within this I am establishing the microclimatic effects of solar arrays, elucidating the subsequent changes in carbon cycling, examining the potential to double crop food and energy and investigating the scope to optimise deployment for ecosystem services.
