Furness College Presents: The Lent Term Wobble & Welcome Social Because wobbles happen — and you don’t have to wobble alone.

Join us for a cosy, creative event as we kick off Lent Term together. Whether you’re a returning undergraduate, a new international student settling into life in Lancaster, or someone juggling deadlines, dissertations, or just the weather, this event is for you.

Together, we’re creating a Community Story Quilt — a colourful display made from individual “patches” created by our student community. Each patch is a chance to share something you’re bringing into the new term: a hope, a wobble, a doodle, a memory from home, something that makes you happy, or even just your favourite colour.

No pressure. No expectations. Just a moment to breathe, create, and feel part of something bigger.

What to expect

• Creative stations with card squares, pens, stickers, and prompts
• Comfort drinks (hot chocolate, tea, and treats)
• A cosy space with soft lighting and chill music ... why not bring your own blanket
• A growing quilt wall that shows the many voices of Furness and our wider college community
• Optional sharing moments for anyone who wants to talk about their patch
• A warm welcome for new international students joining us this term
