About this Workshop

The workshop is part of the ICMS Knowledge Exchange Catalyst project.

The aim of the workshop is to facilitate Knowledge Exchange between academics working in the area of Discrete Geometry/Geometric Rigidity/Graphic Statics and industry professionals who have an interest in the design and analysis of rigid and flexible structures, particularly in the field of structural engineering.

Topics will include:

• Methods from Graphic Statics
• Discrete Geometry and Geometric Rigidity in Architecture and Engineering
• Design of material-efficient structures (e.g. gridshells, cable nets)
• Mechanisms, tensegrities, origami-based structures
• Computational methods

The focus will be on open questions, discussions and collaborations

The workshop is supported by the ICMS and by SOM.
