As we celebrate 120 years of the Entente Cordiale, the School of Global Affairs in Lancaster University and the Alliance Française de Manchester are delighted to invite you to learn more about this historical event with a bilingual exhibition hosted in the Roundhouse from the 14th to the 25th of October.
The exhibition ''When Marianne and Britannia Meet - L'Entente Cordiale' is both in French and English (bien sûr!!!) to be accessible for all.
Alongside the exhibition, there will be a special evening on Thursday, 17th October with a roundtable at 6pm in Bowland North Seminar Room 2 to discuss this event from several perspectives (with colleagues from a language, a history and a politics aspect).
The speakers will be:
Olga Gomez-Cash from the School of Global Affairs, who teaches French and Spanish, will be chairing the roundtable.
Gaynor Johnson from the Department of History is currently completing a book on British ambassadors to Paris in the interwar period.
Martin Steven from the Department of Politics, Philosophy & Religion whose research interests lie in the area of European Union politics.
Alternatively, you can join us online for this event by registering with this link https://www.trybooking.com/uk/DZRT.
