Whatever Your Field Of Study, In The Future You’ll Be Working With Others Solving Sticky Problems To Strengthen Organisations, Communities And The Things That Matter.

Understanding the needs of the humans you are trying to serve, is at the at the heart of developing solutions stick and projects and ventures that fly.  

Human Centred Design has proven to be a powerful problem solving process. It is being used worldwide by everyone from humanitarians, entrepreneurs, software developers, and many others, to create innovative products, services and solutions that users’ value.  Please join us as we introduce a framework for practicing Human Centred Design in your work and your life. The session will be fast paced.

You will explore a process for need finding, problem framing, rapid idea generation, collaboration and prototyping. You’ll leave with a creative problem solving approach to apply in your own context

Please have the following to hand for prototyping in the session:

  • Paper, Pen

Also useful if you have these but

not essential:

  • Sticky tape
  • Glue stick
  • Coloured pens / pencils
  • Foil
  • Stickers
  • Anything craft

Just bring yourself and your willingness to experiment and try new things with a diverse group of people.

Joining Instructions

Our online sessions take place via video calls on Microsoft Teams. This can be accessed via your Internet Browser or by downloading the Microsoft Teams application. Please join our Community Group using the link below and your Lancaster University login. If you do not have a Lancaster University account or would like to use an alternative email address, please let us know via email at workinprogress@lancaster.ac.uk and we'll add you to the group. You will then be able to join the session taking place.

Places on our sessions are limited and in demand – if you book please put a note and a reminder in your diary.
