Join us for a short talk from Heather Koldewey (Zoological Society of London) as a part of our Work in Progress series within LEC.

Professor Heather Koldewey started working for ZSL (Zoological Society of London) in 1995, as a postdoctoral research scientist in the Institute of Zoology, curator of London Zoo Aquarium, Head of Marine and Freshwater Conservation and now as Senior Marine Technical Advisor and Lead of the Bertarelli Foundation's Marine Science Programme. Heather is also an Honorary Professor at the University of Exeter and a National Geographic Explorer.

Her talk will focus on her work as the lead of the Bertarelli Foundation’s Marine Science Programme, a transdisciplinary research and conservation programme focused on the Indian Ocean, involving over 90 researchers from 24 institutions and 6 countries. This programme is an endorsed Action of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and has a strong focus on regional capacity building for marine science.
