Research Overview

I am a PhD researcher investigating the interactions between ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) solar parks and their surrounding ecosystems. With a background in solar park impact assessment and post-construction ecological monitoring, my research focuses on quantifying the effects of solar parks on plant communities and bird populations.

I aim to develop a standardised European framework for assessing ecological responses to solar energy developments, enabling the creation of comparable datasets. Additionally, my work examines how plant communities develop within solar farms and how these dynamics influence the foraging behaviour of ground-nesting birds across the wider landscape.
