Research Overview

My research interests include applying broad ecological and biogeochemical frameworks to address species-specific questions, enabling a mechanistic understanding of how individual taxa contribute to, and are shaped by, wider ecosystem processes. I completed my undergraduate degree at Lancaster University in BSc Ecology and Conservation (with placement year). I am currently studying for a full-time PhD in Biological Science affiliated with Lancaster Environment Centre and supervised by Dr Sam Taylor, Dr Marjorie Lungren, Dr Gemma Fenwick and Prof Nick Graham. Using ecophysiology and phylogeographic methods, I aim to examine the complexity of seagrass photosynthesis and photosynthetic diversity. Furthermore, at the core of my project I hope to gain a better understanding of the physiological, cellular and biochemical mechanisms and processes that underpin seagrass photosynthesis.
