Ogechi Emmanuel-Ameh
PhD studentResearch Overview
I am an environmental microbiologist with a foundation in biochemistry, driven by a fascination with how freshwater organisms adapt to stress, working at the interface of freshwater ecology, molecular biology, and environmental toxicology. My research brings together hands‑on laboratory experimentation and computational analysis to explore how contaminants reshape microbial communities, metabolic pathway and their ecological functions. My work supports evidence‑based environmental management by generating actionable insights into biodegradation potential, Microbial interactions under stress, and the biochemical processes that underpin freshwater resilience in the face of anthropogenic pressure.
