Quarry Life

A limestone quarry

About the Quarry Life Awards

Quarry Life Awards are a scheme run by Heidelberg Materials to increase scientific understanding of the interaction between quarries and nature. The scheme aims to raise awareness of the ecological value of extraction sites and share new best practices. Professor Carly Stevens will be working with Horton Quarry to gain a better understanding of how we should be managing limestone pavements by establishing a grazing experiment on an area of limestone pavement owned and managed by the quarry. Keep up to date on the project’s progress here.
