Top in the North West

Lancaster University is the best place in the North West to study Geography and Environmental Sciences, according to the Complete University Guide 2023.

Lancaster was placed 13th nationally out of 76 universities for the subject and ranked 4th nationally for the quality of its research in this area.

In Biological Sciences, Lancaster was ranked 2nd in the Northwest region and 20th out of 100 for the subject nationally.

Lancaster University overall also ranked top in the North West and was placed 11th nationally.

The Complete University Guide league table is based on ten measures: Entry Standards, Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Research Intensity, Graduate Prospects – outcomes, Graduate Prospects – on track, Student-Staff Ratio, Spending on Academic Services, Spending on Student Facilities, and Completion. It includes 130 institutions.
