About us
Our soil science research group examines the fundamental processes governing soil health, fertility, and ecosystem function.
We investigate how soil properties, the microbial communities that live in them and the nutrient cycles they shape supports plant growth and carbon storage. With the use of advanced molecular techniques, sensor technology, and field experiments, our research examines the impacts of land use, pollution, and climate change on soil quality and resilience.
Soil science does not exist in isolation, and our interdisciplinary work seeks to integrate with broader environmental and ecological studies to inform policies and land-use strategies that maintain the healthy soils essential for food security and diversity.
