Title: Leading the development and application of research in policing

Date: 27th Jan 2023

Time: 2pm - 3pm

Join: Teams

Abstract:

T/ACC Ian Dawson’s approach to the development and application of research across policing has three components: Developing collaborations with researchers to build research based practice, identifying priority areas of research to improve policy and delivery of service to the public, and providing opportunities to the workforce to develop themselves to apply evidence based practice. In this seminar Ian will reflect on more than a decade leading Lancashire Constabulary’s evidence based practice. He will offer his practitioner perspective on collaborations that worked and those that didn’t, and he will offer insights into research collaboration from the perspective of a police decision maker.
