RES Conference

Dear RES Colleagues, Welcome to our first ever, RES Divisional Conference!

Monday 10th December 2018 will see our first ever RES Divisional Conference which will bring together staff across all areas of Enterprise & Innovation, and Research Services, in professional and support roles.

We hope that you like the plan for the day which kicks off with an introduction and a welcome from our Director of Research, Enterprise & Innovation, Dion Williams, and later in the day we’ll hear from our keynote speaker, new PVC for Engagement Professor Dame Sue Black.

The Conference will include introductions from and questions to our teams, based around the 2 minute guides, from across the whole division in the morning followed by some key questions posed by you as a division for group discussion in the afternoon. Mixed in with this we have lunch in the excellent Lancaster House Hotel restaurant, and a couple of competitions including a festive themed bake-off and best Christmas themed outfit (with prizes).

The aims of the day are to share best practice, exchange ideas and to celebrate RES’s successes. It is hoped that the conference will help shape as well as improve communication to ensure that RES can continue to provide a professional, efficient and innovative service to the academic, research and student community. To maximise the potential of this day, we need as many of our RES colleagues to participate as possible which means that there may be limited or no service on that day. The conference has been planned so that (to the best of our ability) it takes place on a day which is less likely to conflict with faculty research showcases, deadlines and other significant events. However, where key deadlines do fall on this day, arrangements will be made on an individual basis to allow for this.
