I chose to study at LUMS because of the reputation and high ranking.

What was the best thing about your course?

The best thing about my course was the flexibility to choose a range of optional modules. I also appreciated the support from my academic tutor and the teaching staff. I could easily approach the lecturers and tutors for any questions during their drop-in hours. They were always willing to help and gave a clear explanation.

Did you do a project, placement or study abroad? What did this involve and what did you gain?

I did a 1-year placement in Hang Seng Bank (HSBC Group) in Hong Kong. It was an inspiring experience to apply the knowledge I gained in the first two years of my study. I further developed my skills with this practical working experience. Also, it helped me find the career path that I have now chosen.

What are the best things about living in the Lancaster area?

It is accessible, and you can easily travel to other cities with direct trains. It seems to be a small town but you can always find all you need.

Which parts of your Lancaster experience were the best preparation for your job?

The placement year was the best preparation for my job. I built practical soft skills from the 1-year working experience. The LUMS Careers team is also supportive on job hunting. You can always get support throughout the job application process: from CV writing to assessment centre and interview.
