Discuss the subjects and courses that interest you and find out about scholarships and postgraduate loans. You may also want to take a tour of our dedicated Graduate College and visit our outstanding student facilities.
You are welcome to attend either all or part of the event, and our talks - Introduction to Lancaster, Student Finance and Applying to Lancaster – are repeated throughout the event. Our Open Day Exhibition will give you a chance to meet staff from your department of interest and to find out more about the services available at the University. Tours of our campus and Graduate College will be available throughout.
There are also talks and activities taking place in our Faculties, which will provide further insight into your course of interest and the facilities available.
Free parking is available in Alexandra Park, South West Campus.
Leave the M6 motorway at junction 33 and take the A6 north towards Lancaster. For South West Campus – turn right at the second set of junction traffic lights on the A6, signposted Alexandra Park, into Hazelrigg Lane and turn left at the roundabout into Alexandra Park Drive.
Please display your parking permit or collect one from our car parking team on Alexandra Park. A free shuttle bus will run between Alexandra Park and the Learning Zone throughout the event.
There are direct rail links between Lancaster and many of the UK’s major cities and airports. There will be a team of students at the station to greet you and provide you with a return bus ticket to campus. The 4 and 4X bus services are available from the station direct to Lancaster University every 30 minutes and return buses run until around 6 pm. After this, the 1 and 2 bus services will run into the town and drop off at the Bus Station or Common Garden Street, both a short 10 minute walk from the train station.
All buses drop off and collect passengers in the Underpass, situated underneath Alexandra Square in the centre of campus. For bus information visit the Stagecoach website for current timetables and further information.
Upon arrival, please make your way to the Learning Zone to check in and enjoy complimentary refreshments throughout your visit. The Learning Zone is located at the centre of campus off Alexandra Square, just follow the Postgraduate Open Day floor stickers along The Spine.
Visit our Open Day Exhibition in the Learning Zone between 2pm and 6pm to find out everything you will need to know about being a Lancaster Postgraduate Student. You will find all of our academic faculties present for any enquiries you may have about your courses and lots of student to discuss life at Lancaster.
You can also visit one of our central or departmental sessions to find out more about your studies and application to Lancaster.
2pm & 5pm
Our Campus tours leave from outside the Learning Zone between 2pm and 5.30pm. Over the course of 45 minutes you will be led by a current Lancaster student around our beautiful 560-acre university grounds and its facilities including the library.
If you want to take a look around the Library on your own you can simply drop in any time.
Lancaster University is one of only a handful of universities in the UK to have a collegiate system. Here at Lancaster, we have a dedicated college for Postgraduate students with fantastic social learning spaces available for its students. Drop into the college between 2pm and 6pm to take a look around the accommodation facilities or chat to the college students and teams. You can jump on the shuttle to take you down to the college on South West campus or enjoy a pleasant walk through our campus yourselves.
