Why did you choose to study at LUMS?
When I first came to LUMS as a study abroad student, I did not expect to fall in love with the community. I felt genuinely welcomed and supported by all the LUMS members (lecturers, academic support staff, etc). It was also a privilege to be studying in one of the UK’s top schools for Marketing.
What was the best thing about your course?
I got to work with a real-life client in the MKTG310 Final Year Marketing and Consulting Project. This was really fun and I developed strong communication and team working skills in a real-life setting, which I believe is very beneficial when I go into the industry.
What inspired you most at LUMS and why?
What inspired me most was how supported I felt throughout my time here. It’s such a welcoming and encouraging environment, and that really motivated me to get involved and give back to the LUMS community. I’ve had the chance to grow personally and professionally through roles like being a LUMS Student Ambassador, social media content creator, and taking part in the Leading Lights mentoring programme. Being part of a community that genuinely values your contributions and helps you develop personally and professionally has honestly been such a big source of inspiration for me.
Describe your time at LUMS in three words:
Empowering, Supportive, Growth.
What are your best memories of your time at Lancaster?
One of my best memories at Lancaster has been working as a LUMS Student Ambassador. Being part of such a supportive and professional team made every Open Day feel like a real team effort. The best part was connecting with prospective students who were genuinely excited to learn about the course. I remember one student who, after our chat, decided to apply on the spot. Seeing their excitement and knowing I helped shape their future made my role feel incredibly fulfilling and rewarding.
What are the best things about living in the Lancaster area?
The best thing about living in Lancaster is how safe the town feels. It is not too busy and yet not too quiet. It is also very convenient to commute to bigger cities such as Manchester or Edinburgh via train.
What impact has your Lancaster experience had on your career?
My Lancaster experience has really helped me develop key skills like communication and teamwork. I’ve also learned how to polish proposals and research data to professional standards, which makes me feel well prepared for the industry.
The LUMS Careers team has been a big help too. Their support with CV advice, interviews, and assessment centre mock tests was incredibly beneficial and gave me a lot of confidence going into the job market.
