Why did you choose to study at LUMS?
I chose to study at LUMS because the school is highly ranked internationally. Moreover, the programme I opted for was an interdisciplinary one that matched both my academic and professional interests.
What was the best thing about your course?
Its multidisciplinarity as well as looking at organisation and management from both a historic and a contemporary lens.
What/who inspired you most at LUMS and why?
The lecturers at LUMS and Organisation, Work and Technology inspired me a lot, not only because they are very knowledgable about diverse topics but also because they are very supportive to every one especially to international students. This is why I decided to pursue my further studies at the same school and department, because I knew that I will find the mentorship I need to excel in my studies.
What are your best memories of your time at Lancaster?
My best memories at Lancaster involve conversations with my classmates before and after class when we used to share things about our home countries, backgrounds and prior experience before we came to LUMS, and it made me always think and reflect about how diverse we all are.
What are the best things about living in the Lancaster area?
It is a small town that is safe and friendly to students, but it still have great vibes especially during the weekend.
Despite studying at different local and international universities before coming to Lancaster University, I found LUMS the safest and most supportive space of all for both my academic and personal wellbeing.
What impact did scholarships or funding have on your degree experience?
If it was not for the Lancaster Global Scholarship and the Management School Masters Scholarship which accounted for almost half of the tuition fees, I would not have been able to study at LUMS. I am more grateful for the Management School Studentship which is currently funding my PhD studies.
Which parts of your Lancaster experience were the best preparation for your job?
My programme of studies prepared me with the academic and research skills required to pursue a PhD. The variety of the assessments as well as the dissertation enabled me to hone these skills.
