What was the best thing about your course?

The wide variety of different modules I could choose, given that I was able to choose other LUMS modules as part of my degree.

Did you do a project, placement or study abroad? What did this involve and what did you gain?

Yes, I did a one-year placement at Lloyds Banking Group in the Edinburgh office. I worked as a Capital Risk Oversight Analyst in the Risk division. I gained vital analytical skills, presentation skills and also Microsoft Excel skills. It helped to build my confidence too.

Describe your time at LUMS in three words.

Rewarding, Supportive, Opportunities.

What are your best memories of your time at Lancaster?

My favourite memory is when I started and captained the Nigerian Society football team alongside my friends. This opened up many opportunities to socialise but also generated lots of laughs. Co-founding the Careers Advancement Network Society also provided one of the best memories as whilst we were fortunate to be able to help other students, the community we built on the exec team was something that I valued too.

What are the best things about living in the Lancaster area?

The campus is really nice. It had so many areas where you could hang out with your friends. Plus it had lots of greenery which was a privilege to enjoy. The small community-like atmosphere in the university is another one of the best things about Lancaster.

Which parts of the Lancaster experience were the best preparation for your job?

My industrial placement was the most important. Also, serving as the Vice President Sports for Pendle College and the wide variety of coursework I was able to complete.

What impact has your Lancaster experience had on your career?

A good one. It provided me with unique experiences that helped me develop new skills. The community-like atmosphere also helped as I got the chance to learn from others' experiences.
