What are your best memories of your time at Lancaster?
My best memories of my time at Lancaster were studying and working alongside my friends. We spent a lot of time preparing for group projects, presentations, and exams together, which made the academic experience much more enjoyable and motivating.
Did you do a project, placement or study abroad? What did this involve and what did you gain?
I completed a company-based group project as part of my masters, in collaboration with Blackpool Council. Our team conducted a feasibility study on the potential launch of an Electric Vehicle (EV) Car Club in Blackpool. The project involved analysing market demand, evaluating strategic options, and assessing the practical considerations involved in implementing a shared EV mobility solution. Through this project, I gained valuable experience working on a real-world policy and business challenge. It strengthened my research, teamwork, and strategic analysis skills, and showed me how academic concepts can be applied to support decision-making in a public sector context.
What are the best things about living in the Lancaster area?
How safe and welcoming the environment feels. The city has a calm and friendly atmosphere, which makes it a very comfortable place to live and study.
Which parts of your Lancaster experience were the best preparation for your job?
Through one-to-one sessions, the careers coaches provided guidance on career planning, CV development, and interview preparation. Their advice helped me better understand how to present my skills and experiences effectively.
What impact has your Lancaster experience had on your career?
My experience at Lancaster had a strong impact on my career, especially through the opportunity to work while studying. Working as a LUMS Ambassador and as a Marketing Assistant at the Faculty of Health and Medicine allowed me to gain practical experience alongside my academic learning. These roles helped me develop professional skills such as communication, organisation, and time management.
