MBA Global Reunion in Dubai
Nearly two decades after walking out of Lancaster University Management School as fresh MBA graduates, the Class of 2006–07 came together once again — this time under the glittering skyline of Dubai. From the USA to Australia, and from India to Russia, classmates boarded flights to reconnect, reminisce, and relive the energy of the year that shaped so many of their personal and professional journeys.
What made this gathering remarkable wasn’t just the distance many travelled; it was the shared commitment to pause busy lives, cross time zones, and celebrate a cohort whose bond had only strengthened with time.
The reunion was brought to life by four classmates — Ashish Vardhan, Mitul Dave, Aamira Ansari, and Ahmed Al Amber — who began planning months in advance with one goal in mind: to create a weekend experience worthy of the memories the class held.
Dubai, a city that mirrored the ambition and internationalism of the MBA batch, quickly emerged as the natural choice.
“Our class has always been global,” said the organising team. “Dubai offered the perfect blend of accessibility, energy, and celebration — a place where our journeys could intersect again.”
The celebrations kicked off on Friday night with drinks at Brass Monkey, followed by dinner at Allo Beirut, offering authentic Arabic cuisine.
Saturday featured a quintessential Dubai experience: a private yacht trip along the coastline, giving classmates the chance to reconnect against the backdrop of the Palm Jumeirah and the city’s iconic skyline.
As the sun set, the group headed to Pier 7 in Dubai Marina for dinner — a venue buzzing with the same vibrancy that had defined their student days. The evening continued with a nostalgic twist: a limo ride to Dubai’s popular club Haveli, where the class danced like it was 2006 all over again.
On Sunday, the group wound down with a relaxed lunch at Brunch & Cake, followed by a beachfront walk along Kite Beach, enjoying conversations that — much like 18 years earlier — moved effortlessly between careers, families, dreams, and laughter.
For many, the Lancaster MBA wasn’t just an academic programme; it was a life milestone. Careers were launched, friendships were formed, and worldviews were expanded. This reunion stood as a testament to how deeply those experiences had resonated.
“It was incredible to see that after so many years, the sense of community was as strong as ever,” the organisers shared. “We had stayed connected across continents, and this weekend was a reminder of how special that truly was.”
When the organising team reached out to Lancaster University with details of the event, the response was warm and enthusiastic. The University expressed delight that its alumni network continued to thrive globally — and that moments like this continued to showcase the spirit of Lancaster long after graduation.
The Class of 2006–07 hoped the Dubai reunion would inspire other cohorts to reconnect, celebrate milestones, and keep the Lancaster flame burning bright across the world.
As the group gathered on the shores of the Arabian Gulf, one thing was clear: while the years had passed, the Lancaster bond remained timeless.
