Title : “Financial stability and the Bank of England’s approach to macroprudential policy”
We are delighted to host Sarah Breeden’s upcoming public lecture. Sarah is a seasoned financial-stability expert with first-hand experience of high-level macroprudential policymaking at the Bank of England where she is Executive Director of Financial Stability Strategy and Risk and member of the Financial Policy Committee. Since 2016 Sarah has led the Bank’s work on climate change, domestically and internationally through the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS).
The UK economy is currently facing multiple pressures and challenges: inflation and weaning off of Covid-related stimulus measures, surging energy prices and Net Zero commitments, sanctions on trade and financial dealings with Russia-linked organisations, and elevated economic uncertainty.
Against this background, Sarah’s perspective and insights into financial stability and macroprudential policy are particularly timely.
