Marketing Minds: Live industry challenge

A group of students working on a project

Introducing the Marketing Minds challenge

The Marketing Minds: Live Industry Challenge invites your pupils to step into the role of a marketing professional for a day. Working on a live Disney brief, students will explore how brands respond to changing consumer behaviour, digital innovation and competitive pressures, before developing and pitching their ideas in a short PowerPoint presentation to an academic marketing panel. This challenge follows the Harvard Business School case study approach. The Disney brief centres on a current challenge facing the brand’s international retail and merchandise business. The student teams will be mentored by a team of academics and student ambassadors as they prepare their pitches.

Structure of the day

The event combines an interactive lecture, campus experience, lunch and a team challenge to offer a realistic and engaging insight into studying Marketing at Lancaster University. The day concludes with the award of the Marketing Minds Award 2026, recognising standout teamwork, creativity and insight. All participants will receive a certificate to support their personal statements and future university applications.
