As the summer is already at its peak in Lancaster, and undergrads are on vacation, campus life has taken on a more relaxed (and slightly sunburnt) vibe. Never knew Lancaster could be this hot, though it’s a lovely time of year—quiet walks around campus, so much greenery to admire, picnics by the lake and parks and evening catch-ups with friends make a great break from dissertation writing!

With the term officially wrapped up, the focus for most of us postgrads has shifted to the final big task: the Dissertation. It's exhausting but eventually rewarding. I’m currently deep into analysing my research on work-life balance in Indian corporate culture, preparing my first draft. It’s exciting to see how the theory we’ve learned throughout the year connects to real-world experiences, and I am excited about the interviews I have planned to take.

Outside of academics, there have been end-of-term events and socials happening despite the absence of undergrads. Especially, the grad college is about to host a summer party this weekend, in which I am hosting a dance workshop, and I am eagerly awaiting the day trip by the end of this month. It’s a great way to celebrate how far we’ve come and start saying early goodbyes to classmates from all over the world and prepare to welcome new ones. Whether you’re heading home for a bit or staying on campus, summer in Lancaster has a calm, reflective feel—and it's the perfect backdrop to finish the year strong.
