My Easter break at Lancaster

Hello from Lancaster - Easter break updates!
Hello hello, it’s Kathy here! In the UK, Easter is one of the main holidays, and everyone has been so excited about this. As a Master Taught student, we get even a bigger break: a whole month off after Term 2 ends in March. It’s been a great chance for me to relax, travel, and spend time with friends.
Easter Break Adventures
One of the best things about Lancaster is how easy it is to travel. The train connections are great, and you can get to lots of big cities from here. I also made many good friends by joining societies at uni, so trips throughout the years become much more enjoyable.
Over the break, I visited Liverpool with friends from the Vietnamese Society, and a guest from another university to join on this trip and have fun with us. Liverpool is such a beautiful and peaceful city. We visited the Liverpool Cathedral, which is actually the largest church in the UK. It had a calm atmosphere and some really cute souvenirs. Also, as a student on the MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management course, I was especially excited to see Royal Albert Dock – together with the Three Graces, which are extremely famous in the city.” Fun fact: it sealed royal status in 2018 at the young age of 172!
Back in Lancaster, I also spent time playing badminton with friends. The Sports Centre has great deals every time during big holidays. This break, they offer “Turn Up and Play” scheme, where you can just show up and pay £2 for two-hour badminton session, with all rackets & shuttles provided. I know, this is very nice! So, I showed up literally every week. Of course, I still had a few assignments to complete over the holiday, but I managed to finish them all - just in time! I just love the slow-paced living in Lancaster. It helps me to balance work, study, and socials quite effectively.
Back on Term 3
So, what’s next? After 1-month of resting and recovering, I’m back on full spirit for the dissertation. That said, I also need some time to re-familiarise with the 3-hour session after the big break…, and we’ve just had our project briefing session this week. I’m excited that there are many interesting topics to choose from, like Sustainable Procurement and Supply Chain Resilience. Fingers crossed I get matched with a topic I’m really passionate about! I hope this gives you a little insight into what life at Lancaster is like - both during term time and the holidays. See you there!
