Lancaster MBA students and alumni gather for London networking event

A seated audience watch a discussion on a stage between Dr Mark Dawson and Jane Callingham

More than 70 Lancaster MBA students, alumni, colleagues, and guests came together for a fantastic networking event at the Royal Society of Chemistry, Burlington House, London.

The evening featured a fireside chat with Lancaster alumna Jane Callingham (BA Advertising & Marketing, 1998, Pendle), Director of Brand and Brand Marketing at the BBC.

Jane shared her inspiring career journey, alongside insights into brand strategy, leadership, and the power of ambition.

“One of the themes that resonated throughout the evening was the lasting impact of the Lancaster experience,” said MBA Director Dr Mark Dawson. “Jane spoke about how much she gained from her time at Lancaster and reflected on the unique culture that makes the University feel like a genuine community.

“It was wonderful to see current MBA students and alumni reconnecting, sharing experiences and building new relationships. Jane captured the spirit of the evening perfectly when she said: ‘Whenever I'm with a group of people with a Lancaster connection, it feels like home’.”

Jane also spoke about the value of personal connection, and the evening was a powerful reminder of the strength of the Lancaster MBA network. It brought together professionals from diverse industries and stages of their careers, creating opportunities to learn from one another, exchange perspectives and build relationships that continue long after graduation.

Dr Dawson added: “Our thanks go to Jane and to everyone who joined us for such an engaging and memorable evening. Events like these demonstrate the strength of the Lancaster MBA community and the connections that make it so special.”
