Alumni award for successful Lancaster MBA graduate

A LUMS MBA graduate received an Alumni Award in recognition of her outstanding achievement at this July’s graduation ceremonies.

Oluwafunke Olubunmi (Funke) Amobi was one of five Lancaster graduates to be recognised for her success during the recent ceremonies on campus.

Funke Amobi is a multi-award-winning Human Resources specialist who currently serves as the Regional Head for People and Culture, Nigeria and West Africa, for Standard Bank Group - Africa’s largest Banking Group ranked by assets and earnings.

A former Chevening Scholar, Funke’s contributions to the fields of HR and employee Engagement have been recognized internationally. In 2015 she was a global finalist for the UK Alumni Education Awards’ Professional Achievement prize; and in the same year she received the HR Leaders award in Nigeria from HR People Magazine.

In 2017, Funke was recognized among the 100 most influential HR professionals globally. More recently, Funke was listed among Nigeria’s Top 50 Corporate Women and she was also named 2019 All Africa Employee Engagement Professional of the Year.
