Lancaster climbs to 8th in the Guardian University Guide

Lancaster University has risen two places to be ranked 8th in the Guardian University Guide 2017, published today.
The Guardian league table combines scores for the aspects of university life that matter most to students. Lancaster’s score has risen for overall satisfaction, teaching satisfaction, assessment and careers.
A number of individual subject areas also performed well, including Business, Management and Marketing (8th ), Accounting and Finance (8th) and Economics (13th).
The latest result comes on the back of Lancaster’s ranking of 9th for the second year in a row in The Complete University Guide 2017 league table.
Professor Mark E. Smith, Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster University welcomed the news. He said: “I am delighted that the reputation of our university is reflected in high rankings year-on-year in the UK's major university league tables.
“Lancaster combines excellence in research and teaching to provide the very best education experience for our students.
“This demonstrates how Lancaster continues to successfully compete with some of the very best universities across the world.”
