LCF further expands and strengthens its activities

The Lancaster Centre for Forecasting is continuously expanding and strengthening its activities in both research and practice. Towards this direction, two Postdoctoral Researchers have recently joined the Centre, engaging in joint research, working with academic colleagues and students whilst developing their research agenda.

In addition to all aspects of academic research the two new members will support the Forecasting Centre by engaging in applied forecasting research projects with companies, liaising with external clients, providing support in executive education courses and supporting the above activities through marketing and administration.

 is a Senior Research Associate in the Lancaster Centre for Forecasting of Lancaster University. He remained the Coordinator and Research Associate of the Forecasting and Strategy Unit of NTUA for nine years, where he also completed his Doctoral in Engineering. Fotios is engaged in data analysis, time series forecasting, optimal model selection and business processes for forecasting. He has provided knowledge transfer and consultancy in Retail, Supply Chain, Spare Parts and Utilities. Except from that, he is an expert in software analysis, system design and development of integrated forecasting support systems. He has published several original articles in referred academic journals and presented his work in major international conferences.

 is a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the Lancaster Centre for Forecasting. He holds a PhD in Forecasting, specialising in forecast model combination and selection using methods from artificial intelligence. Prior to 2009 he was an ACCA Chartered Accountant and Team Leader with PricewaterhouseCoopers for over 4 years, and a Management Science Lecturer at Monroe College. Devon has over three years of experience as a Website Design and Database consultant across the Eastern Caribbean. More recently he has consulted and provided knowledge transfer on various projects in Electricity load forecasting, Retail and Supply chain, providing data exploration, time series analysis and modelling for companies such as Dong Energy, Denmark and Retail Express, UK. He has published original articles in international journals and conference proceedings, and given international presentations to academics and practitioners in the field of Forecasting. His current research interests include time series forecasting, model combination for forecasting, data mining and general statistical and quantitative methods.
