The LUMS Academic Writing Zone has celebrated its 2000th student visit this month.

To mark the occasion, final year Management and IT student Lucy Riding, who hails from Lancashire, was presented with a commemorative certificate and a LUMS notebook and pen.

The Academic Writing Zone was set up in 2011 to provide one-to-one consultations on academic writing for all LUMS students.

Gill Burgess, Student Learning Advisor for LUMS, said: “It is wonderful to see the enduring popularity of the scheme with students of all nationalities and academic backgrounds. The mentors have created a very friendly and supportive environment, and I am really proud of the contribution they have made to student learning in LUMS. We are still in touch with many of our previous mentors, and it is great to see that they are still drawing upon their coaching and mentoring experience in their professional roles in places as diverse as America, Thailand and Manchester!”

Lucy, pictured here with writing mentors Carolina Fernandez Quintanilla, Maksim Mayer, Josi Fernandes, and Elena Nichele, and with student learning advisor Carol Bennett, said she appreciated the "excellent" input from the mentors, and was happy to share this special moment on the scheme.
