Stephan is responsible for designing statistical and optimization algorithms used in SAP’s software products for forecasting in retail, which automate forecasting and replenishment for millions of stock-keeping units at thousands of supermarkets, drugstores, and other retail outlets all over the world. He is an elected director for the International Institute of Forecasters and Associate Editor for the practitioner-oriented forecasting journal Foresight.

It is expected that Stephan will collaborate with LCF members in research on retail forecasting, intermittent demand forecasting and inventory modelling.
