We are a global Management School, committed to Europe and beyond
29 June 2016
Professor Angus Laing, Dean of the Management School, reflects on the EU referendum result.
Britain's business schools, including Lancaster University Management School, enjoy an enviable standing on the global stage. This is down to their openness; to ideas, to innovation and to people. The ability to attract the very best students and staff from around the world to work together in an open, globally connected community is what makes the top British business schools such significant players.
At Lancaster University Management School we are international in our orientation and ambition. The outcome of the EU referendum does not in any way alter that orientation and ambition. We remain totally committed to working with our European and wider network of international partners to deliver outstanding education to students from around the world, undertaking research which has a global impact. We will work with the University and the wider business school community to ensure that we continue to access European-wide resources and networks to support our activities.
Our staff base is increasingly international. The richness of our community comes from its diversity. This diversity and the openness to talent from around the world, which is its underpinning, is a core value of the Management School. We will ensure that despite the inevitable challenges arising over the coming months and years, we remain a destination of choice for the best staff and students from Europe and the wider world.
