Vikas Shah MBE held his Masterclass on Wednesday 27th February, he started his first business aged just 14 just before the .com boom, Vikas shared his extraordinary journey of building a global presence, losing it all and rebuilding his career building an international textiles and commodities trading business, angel investing, and teaching at some of the world’s top universities.

Vikas demonstrated the importance for entrepreneurs to be emotionally resilient, that failing before you succeed is inevitable and that mindfulness is the key to success. Vikas highly emotive Masterclass showcased how mindfulness is a useful transformational tool for running a business, and in supporting individuals to have a better quality of life.

Professor Claire Leitch, Associate Dean of Lancaster University Management School, said: “We were delighted that Vikas shared his inspiring and engaging journey. He showcased the importance of being mindful, emotionally resilient and continuously growing as individuals. The audience asked an excellent variety of questions, and I’m sure we all learnt a lot from Vikas.”

The event was part of a Masterclass Series run by Lancaster University Management School and supported by NatWest, which involves inspirational speakers with a passion for business sharing their knowledge and expertise to inspire SMEs. Lancaster University Management School has been running business Masterclasses for more than 10 years as part of their business engagement programmes and have drawn audiences in the hundreds from across the North West’s SME networks.
