Celebratory lunch for Accounting and Finance award winners


Accounting and Finance students

Three Accounting and Finance undergraduate prize winners for 2018/19 recently attended a celebratory lunch with the Head of Department, Greg Pawlina, and Part II Director, Dr Alexey Akimov.

Yvan Yeung, Ayesha Lowe and Daniel Mayor all received individual prizes in recognition of their hard work, and we would like to congratulate them on their achievements.

The awards are as follows:

  • Outstanding contribution to the department. £250 - Yvan Yeung
  • 2nd year prize based on highest 2nd year mean overall aggregate score. £250 - Ayesha Lowe
  • The ICAEW award for the best combined performance on Ac.F150/351a. The student will be offered a week-long placement with RSM in Preston. - Daniel Mayor.

Head of Department, Greg Pawlina, said of the winners “The performance to date of Ayesha, Daniel and Yvan has really been impressive. I wish them every success and I am sure that they will be a great asset to any organisation they will work for – not only as highly qualified accounting and finance specialists but also as emerging critical thinkers and leaders in their field”.

One of the winners, Yvan Yeung, said “It has been an honour and a privilege winning the prize, thanks to the staff in the department who nominated me. I have learnt a lot while contributing to the department. I will continue to offer my services to the department with utmost pride.”
