Sale of vinyl are resurgent, and are set to become the biggest source of revenue for physical sales for the music industry,

Yet, just 30 years ago, as the CD came to dominate the market, vinyl almost disappeared.

Based on his research in the area, Lancaster University Management School’s Senior Lecturer in Economics Dr Renaud Foucart has examined how the rise of digital technologies has contributed to the comeback, with old technologies back in fashion due to more than just nostalgia.
