EFMD Global have awarded Lancaster University Management School full EQUIS accreditation for the next five years.

A team of four EQUIS peer review members carried out the accreditation visit to the Lancaster campus across three days in May, meeting with staff and students.

The EQUIS team has since formalised its report which highlights LUMS’ excellence in many areas. This includes the commitment of LUMS’ academics and staff when supporting its students; the embedded nature of LUMS’ research, its commitment to ensuring the themes of sustainability and responsibility run through all the School’s activities, and LUMS’ dedication to its role as a ‘civic university’, understanding its region and how it can work positively with communities and partners to improve the needs of its surrounding community and make a difference.

Professor Claire Leitch, Executive Dean of LUMS said: “This re-accreditation is excellent news for our School and is testament to the outstanding contributions made by academic and professional services staff and our students on a daily basis.

“Gaining accreditation is no easy task and so much work goes on behind the scenes every day to ensure we provide our students with the exceptional quality they so rightfully deserve. This deep commitment to quality and to building such a sense of community is what sets LUMS apart from other business schools. Our students can rest assured they will receive the very best teaching from academic leaders in their field, and are learning in an environment that will stimulate them to be the very best they can be.

“It is wonderful to see the EQUIS team draw attention to many areas of excellence in LUMS – from our dedicated staff who go above and beyond to support our students, to our collective commitment to the important role LUMS plays within our region.

“Following our string of successful five-year accreditations over the last twenty years, we are delighted to yet again be awarded a full five year accreditation. I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to all those involved in such a successful visit.”
