The Academy for Gender Equality and Social Justice Research in Organisations is delighted to welcome Dr Emily Yarrow (Newcastle University Business School) to LUMS to present her work on 'Athena SWAN and meaningful EDI strategy making’.

In this seminar, Emily will discuss her research surrounding Athena SWAN, alongside the notion of organisational peacocking and identity taxation of equality champions. Drawing on her experiences of working with Athena SWAN teams and her wider body of research, this seminar will explore insights into meaningful and impactful EDI strategy making.

As you know, LUMS is preparing its Athena Swan Silver Award submission this summer, so I am sure many of our academic as well as professional service colleagues will find this interesting.

This will be a hybrid seminar, on May 6th at 2pm at LUMS LT 16 (Robinson)

Dr Emily Yarrow is a Senior Lecturer in Management and Organisations at Newcastle University and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and a Chartered Member of the CIPD (MCIPD). Emily is Deputy Head of the Leadership, Work and Organisation Subject Group, an elected member of Newcastle University Senate, and Vice Chair for EDIR at the British Academy of Management. Her research contributes to understandings of gendered organisational dynamics, women's experiences at work, inequality regimes, AI and bias, and governance in higher education.
