Nicola RenniePhD student, Associate Lecturer
I’m currently a PhD student at STOR-i CDT, Lancaster University having completed a Masters of Research in Statistics and Operational Research in 2018. My main research area is revenue management, specifically in the airline industry. Most revenue management systems rely on forecasts of expected demand, and my research focuses on systematically detecting cases where demand differs from expectations. In addition, we look at robustifying existing revenue management techniques against such deviations in demand. My supervisors are Catherine Cleophas (Christian-Albrechts Universität zu Kiel), Florian Dost (University of Manchester), and Adam Sykulski (Lancaster University).
Prior to joining STOR-i, I graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2017, with a BSc in Mathematics, having studied a range of topics spanning Pure and Applied Mathematics as well as Statistics.
